The Goethe-Institut Hanoi presents under the title “CLINGING HYBRID” an art installation of the Vietnamese artist Lai Thi Dieu Ha at the courtyard of the Institute.

Lai Thi Dieu Ha is one of the most promising a most unusual performance artists in Vietnam. Her latest work, which is shown at the courtyard of the Institute, is inspired by the calm beauty of insects. She would like to catch their fragility and ephemerality, and share and record their beauty.

The installation/performance is a contribution to the international art project „Skylines with Flying People“, organized by the Japan Foundation, where also the Goethe-Institut participated as a partner. At „Skylines with Flying People“ Lai Thi Dieu Ha works with textiles and creates sculptures, made of cloth. Since graduating from the Vietnam Fine Arts University, Ha has taken part in various art events and exhibitions, also in Norway and Japan. Last time in „IN:ACT“ in Nhasan Studio (2010/2011). Lai Thi Dieu Ha focuses on her works on female identity and sexuality.

Since graduating from the Vietnam Fine Arts University, Ha has taken part in various art events and exhibitions, both nationally and internationally, such as: ‘Sai Gon Open City’ in Ho Chi Minh City (2006), ’10+’ at Nhasan Studio (2008), ‘Lim Dim’ – Vietnamese Contemporary Art exhibition in Oslo, Norway (2009), ‘NIPAF’ – Nippon International Performance Art Festival in Japan (2009) and ‘IN:ACT’ at Nhasan Studio (2010, 2011)
