Baptiste Gilloz-I think It's a Marten

Opening: Thu 21 Feb, 6 pm
Exhibition: 21 Feb – 13 Mar 2013
TwentyONEnorth
49 Lang Yen Phu, Hanoi

From the organizer:

Parisian born artist Baptiste Gilloz will have his first Hanoi exhibition. The graduate of Cergy’s art school ENSAPC usually builds his shows as installations in which his paintings communicate in some way with one another across distinctive origins. Through the use of quotations and displaced language, Gilloz explores the limits of his freedom by looking for what is not obviously apparent on the surface.

While the show enigmatically titled “I think it’s a marten” may raise some eyebrows, question asking is what Gilloz’s work is all about.

  1. Hello — I’m confused.
    “I think it’s a marten”

Should this be “I think it’s a martian”?

A Martian is a fictional native inhabitant of the planet Mars.

  2. Report to Brenda:

…by now you might have visited & clarified for yourself the show and realized that it was — a marten…a creature of a kind of wolverines, etc vicious, but cute…
