Get inspired by experienced international film makers and meet your fellow film makers from other Southeast Asian countries at the DocNet Southeast Asia SUMMER SCHOOL.

The 10-day workshop offers you the opportunity to get hands-on advice on your on-going project from renowned film makers from Europe and the region. At the same time the SUMMER SCHOOL is the unique chance to get to know other film makers from Southeast Asia and their projects, exchange knowledge and start a network of film makers in the region.

We are seeking applications of film makers with their documentary projects in pre- production and production for our project development workshop or projects in post-production stage for our editing workshop.

Submissions are free. All costs for participating in the workshop, airfare, accommodation and catering will be covered by Doc Net Southeast Asia.

WHO

  1. Participants must be at least 21 years old.
  2. Participants’ origin country must be one of the following: Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand or Vietnam.
  3. Participants should already have made at least 1 documentary film.
  4. Participants are obligated to participate for the whole duration of the “Summer School”.

DocNet Southeast Asia is a regional training initiative initiated by Goethe-Institut and funded by the EU—and its partners from six Southeast Asian countries. DocNet Southeast Asia brings the Asian documentary scene together to celebrate the art and business of documentary making with a diverse programm of training workshops, panels, round table discussions and ChopShots, the international documentary festival event in Jakarta on December 5-9, 2012.

DocNet Southeast Asia is the ideal network for people from the documentary and digital industries to get together—to screen their work, share knowledge, do business, make new contacts and discuss innovations and challenges they are facing in the ever changing media landscape.
