Program “Month of Artistic Practice” calls for artists

Young artists are welcomed to join the program “Month of Artistic Practice” based on the project “The Brownian Movement” of artist Tran Trong Vu.

At the moment, the plan has been determined. Three famous international artists from three countries France, Poland and Korea – Thierry Fontaine, Ludwika Ogorzelec and Yun Woo Choi respectively – have accepted to participate in the program. They are all unique visual artists having great influences on the contemporary art.

Toward Vietnamese artists, the organizer will seek for young artist not over 30 years old, having strong creative potential, having desire to communicate with professional international artists on their creative paths.

1. Purpose
– Create an independent creative environment for artists, so they can develop and implement creative ideas without the pressure of the market, of everyday life.
– Provide some living conditions, art-composed materials for artists.
– Exchange, discuss and provide information, experiences, tips, etc… helping artists complete their creative works.
– Create an opened space, in which artists can present themselves in front of public and other artists about their art concept and creative style. And through these open activities, artists will have opportunities to raise awareness and get closer to public.
– At the same time, this program will also contribute to promoting international exchanges between Vietnamese and foreign artists, enriching art activities in Vietnam and Hanoi.

2. Key Activities
+ The selected artists will start working at Dolphin Plaza with a presentation about the job they will undertake during the residency period.
+ During the period, they will participate in art workshops, seminars… relating to background knowledge about art. These sessions are open for everyone so artists could meet public and media.
+ At the end of residency time, artworks of artists will be exhibited at Heritage Space.

3. Artist Requirementa
– Age: no limit for international artists, under 30 years old for Vietnamese artists
– Nationality: any nationality
– 3 international artists and 4 Vietnamese artists
– The selected artists will be committed to transfer one of their artworks’ ownership to Heritage Space at the end of the program. These artworks will be chosen by the curator of the program.

4. Documentation requirements
Application form
– CV and art biography (Visual artists are required to provide no more than 10 artworks. Video and sound artists are required to send DVD files under popular formats (mp3, mp4, avi, mov, flv…) about their own performance and products

5. Milestones
– Deadline for application: before 25/10/2015
