From the organizer:

FUTURE SHORTS VIETNAM IS BACK with the very best short films from across the globe and our own program of homegrown talent!

Come support local talent and independent cinema from around the world on Friday, June 24th at Saigon Outcast, with VJ GlitterSweet and DJ Stupot, providing live visuals and spinning music after the films. For those of you who can’t make it on Friday, we have an encore screening on Wednesday, June 29th at Cà phê thứ Bảy Trẻ.

Our Spring Program features a diverse selection of critically acclaimed works, ranging from the BAFTA-winning Edmund, a stop motion animation about an oddball character who goes on a reverse journey through his life, revisiting every defining moment in order to locate the origins of his desires; to Leidi, awarded the Short Film Palme d’Or at Cannes, which follows a young mother who won’t return home until she finds the father of her child. Here in Vietnam we are also dedicated to showcasing local talent and subjects.

Our ‘local’ program of works by Vietnamese directors boasts one of Vimeo’s ‘Best Picks of 2015′ Down the Stream, a refreshingly experimental, multi-award winning short doc encountering the lives of children living on the water; The Funeral Singer, a sweet but somber portrait of a family and a tradition; and filmed in Saigon, Flux, an expression through dance, communicated through film.
