From Heritage Space:

Heritage Space proudly present MAP-Talk 1 “Public Art – From Theory to Practice” with presentations from two German artists Ingo Vetter from Bremen and Daniel Rode from Dresden and two young Vietnamese ones: Nguyễn Hà My from Huế and Nguyễn Phú Viên from Hà Nội. The talk is going to be led by researcher Vũ Huy Thông. It is a part of the exchange activities in “Month of Art Practice – MAP 2017” by Heritage Space.

Talk 1, which is a part of the main theme of MAP 2017 – Utopia, will be a discussion about the artists’ practical experiences of working in public spaces. In his pursuit of arts, with a particular emphasis of public art works, Ingo Vetter develops his works in both theoretical aspects of different art forms and practical applications based on his own theoretical system. Danied Rode uses various available materials such as characters, texts, objects and ready-mades, bringing visual and historical characteristics to his backgrounds; thus, stirring up the viewers’ curiousitiy and encourage their interaction.

Meanwhile, Vietnamese artists will share their practical experiences in process of making art and public art project. Nguyễn Hà My will present her challenges and experiences when she participated in public art projects in local International Cultural Festivals while Nguyễn Phú Viên will share his memories and mental changes before and after a project he was working on about outdoor artwork in MAP 2016 and other personal activities.
