From the organizer:

Come join us for a FREE screening of the new documentary film “The Last Pig”.

THE LAST PIG is a lyrical meditation on what it means to be a sentient creature with the power to kill. Deeply immersive, the film follows a pig farmer through his final year of slaughtering pigs. Through sparse, intimate musings, the farmer reveals the growing conflict of a life spent “peddling in death.”

Through this personal journey, THE LAST PIG raises crucial questions about equality, the value of compassion, and the sanctity of life. It is expected that the film will help propel a shift in our society’s relationship to non-human beings and our capacity for compassion.

The documentary feature was completed in February 2017. The film is currently screening at festivals and independent theaters and will be made available for community screenings in July 2017. Distribution of the film to schools, universities, and libraries will be managed by Green Planet Films. The film will be offered for broadcast prior to DVD and VOD release. Fundraising is ongoing, and all support will help finance our extensive outreach efforts.
