From Institut Français de HCM Ville:

Marine Bachelot Nguyen, a writer/director, is a participant of the Villa Saigon residency program. She explores the alliance of fiction and document, the crossings of body and politics, and feminist and postcolonial issues.

During the summer of 2014, Marine Bachelot Nguyen traveled to Vietnam and collected testimonials from young activists of the LGBT movement in Saigon, Hanoi, and other cities. She later wrote and produced “Shadows and Lips” – a documentary play about the movement – out of these stories. A film that captures the entire play, created in France in 2016, will be screened in Vietnam for the first time on Tuesday, the 6th of March. It will be followed by a debate with the artists and members of the LGBT rights association ICS in Vietnam.

The film will be screened in French, with Vietnamese subtitles
