From Okia Cinema:

Hello beautiful autumn October!

In this gorgeous October, Okia Cinema would like to present you a series of cultural and cinema activities with the theme of Russia!

We will be showing Russian movies since back in the day, those that were part of the childhood for many people… war, action, comedy, drama, children, and even fairy-tale movies will be presented…

Modern Russian movies will also be shown – within our modest knowledge and capability to collect them.

Entering week 3 of the Month of Russia, as there is a large number of Soviet movies to be shown and demanded to be shown, Okia Cinema will do marathon screening, which means there is no movie shown twice, all are screened for once only. Selected movies are rare in terms of quality and historical value.

This week, the main theme is the soldier in the war, portrayed in many different perspective. Let’s watch the movies to understand this period of time in the old Soviet arts & culture.

Saturday screenings are for children and families with fairy tale movies and a romantic film.

The screening of “Ivan’s Childhood” will have a presentation on the aesthetics of Andrei Tarkovsky’s works, delivered by director Nguyen Hoang Diep.
