VICAS Art Studio
From the organizer:
As a tradition, each year on the occasion of the Lunar New Year, VICAS art studio will host an exhibition for artists to participate. This year, this exhibition is called ĐAO PHÁP, introducing paintings made using painting knives, by hand or other by flying, by hand or by any other tool other than the usual paintbrush.
80 artists from all over the country (Soc Trang, Binh Duong, Sai Gon, Buon Me Thuot, Hue, Quang Binh, Lao Cai,…) have sent their works to participate.
93 artworks showcased in this exhibition are diverse in style (realism, expressionism, abstractism, neo-expressionism), in materials (pastel, ink on dó paper, acrylic, oil painting, lacquer, synthetic materials, wooden figures) and in its genre (still life, landscape, social issues, emotions & thoughts of the artists…). These paintings are all the latest works from the artists.
Developing an art audience is the main purpose of this exhibition. Art is a high-end commodity, still, but in the initial stages of opening up the art market in Vietnam, artists need to strive to stimulate potential audience with quality artworks with a reasonable price. All the artists who participate in “Đao Pháp” agreed with that point of view of the organizers, and thus reduce the prices of their artworks to the lowest possible (ranging from 4,000,000 VND to 20,000,000 VND).
