From the organizers:

You are invited to the Painting exhibition on Year of the Pig 2019 showcases and introduces 60 artworks by 33 Vietnamese contemporary artists.

Artists have breathed life into the zodiac sign of 2019 with their own distinct styles. Seeing “Lon Man” (a hybrid species of pig native to Vietnam) and “Tu hoa nam Hoi” (self-portrait in the Year of the Pig), you will immediately recognize the iconic artistic language of artist Thanh Chuong with bold, vibrant, contrasting colors full of traditions yet still modern. “Tinh Xuan” (love in spring) by Dang Thu An is charming, vibrant and incredibly feminine like the artist who painted it. “Sung man” (abundance) and “Sung tuc” (prosperity) by Le Tri Dung were inspired by Dong Ho folk paintings, looking forward to a prosperous, united, flourishing Year of the Pig. Appearing for the first time at the this year Tet painting exhibition, Nguy Dinh Ha introduces two of his latest works: “Du xuan” (spring adventure) and “Vu dieu mua xuan” (dance of spring). Seeing these paintings, the audience can feel spring and the new year coming in a heartbeat, in the sweet melodies of the dance of spring or on a spring adventure.

The artworks are of medium size, around 80 x 100cm or smaller, suitable for art enthusiasts who enjoy art but are yet to afford larger works. With its own unique features, the organizers hope that the Painting exhibition on Year of the Pig 2019 will add a touch of spring to the Vietnamese art scene; and at the same time, bring new, interesting perspectives to the audience on the zodiac sign of Pig upon entering the year 2019.
