Cyclo is set 20 years after 1975’s fall of Saigon (old name of Ho Chi Minh City) and follows a young cyclo driver (Le Van Loc), forced into crime when his rickshaw is stolen. The movie is like a rocking symphony revealing human’s deep consciences when confronting with goodness and evil in the context of turbulent social condition. At the same time, it has reflected the director’s interesting eyes towards various corners of Saigon in its early vivid development period, from slums to narrow valleys and old apartment buildings. The movie is considered by international audience as “masterpiece of visual cinematographic” thanks to a lot of strongly vibrant & impressive scenes, materials and images. “An extraordinary and definitely a must-see movie” (Time Out).
