From the organizer:

We’re excited to invite applications for an intensive writing workshop for emerging writers this November in Ho Chi Minh City. As a small group and through sessions led by writers, editors, and translators, participants will engage with approaches including art criticism, essay, journalism, and anthropology, with dedicated sessions on translation between English and Vietnamese. While the workshop is conducted in English, we welcome applicants who work between both languages. Participants will workshop a text of their own and learn about the editorial process, with an opportunity to be published in Afterall.

Organized by Adeena Mey (Editor, Afterall), Trâm Lương (Professor in Art & Media Studies, Fulbright University Vietnam), Minh Nguyen (Director and Curator, Dogma), and Nguyễn Ngọc Liên (Associate Curator, Dogma), this program accompanies Dogma’s upcoming exhibition on language and reading culture

Workshop from Nov 2 – 8, 2026 – various locations in Ho Chi Minh City.
