As part of the “Open Academy“, a special concert will be held in Hanoi. After an intensive 3-day workshop on improvisation in music and art with Vietnamese musicians and students, a joint composition of Western jazz, traditional Vietnamese instruments and improvisation was created. You will be surprised at this evening concert by the Berlin-based jazz musician Fuasi Abdul-Khaliq and his Vietnamese colleagues!

Fuasi Abdul-Khaliq is a performing artist and lives since 1992 in Berlin. From the early 90’s he worked in Los Angeles with the important, and meanwhile deceased, African-American pianist Horace Tapscott. This life-long cooperation led to Tapscott´s Panafrikan People´s Arkestra where Fuasi worked as assistant conductor, as well as arranger, composer, copier and player of saxophone, clarinet and flute. Fuasi Abdul-Khaliq played numerous concerts in the US and has worked in Europe for the last 18 years.
