Register today to attend a Friends of Vietnam Heritage event in March!

This month FVH is offering a day excursion to Đường Lâm Ancient Village, about 60 km west of Hà Nội, and a film screening of “The Deserted Valley” followed by a Q&A with director Phạm Nhuệ Giang. Ngũ Xã Island’s bronze-making village and Quán Thánh Temple will be explored during a Discover Hanoi City Walk (conducted in English), as will the traditional medicine shops found along the Old Quarter’s Lãn Ông Street (walk conducted in Japanese). Dr Thuỷ Lê of the Yakushi Center will teach participants Swedish and Shiatsu methods of massage during the “Massage for Relaxation and Stress Relief” lecture and demonstration. And finally, two lectures will be held: “Tools of Living: Functional Objects of Tribal Groups in Việt Nam” and “Reading City Landscape as Text: French Architecture and Colonial Meanings in Hà Nội”.
