Doclab photography workshop 2016 opens for registration
Extended deadline: 24 Oct 2016 Deadline: 10 Oct 2016

From DOCLAB:

This is the second photography workshop held at DocLab by American photographer Jamie Maxtone-Graham.

This workshop consists of three parts:

– In-class presentations by the instructor of important 20th century photographers and their work and ideas beginning in the 1950s and continuing through current times.
– Homework and in-class critiques by fellow workshop participants and the instructor.
– Each participant will also be expected to do research on a photographer who he/she is interested in to make a presentation in the workshop.

Workshop participants will also produce a final, personal project with the idea that this will be part of a group exhibition.

The previous workshop projects resulted in the show Autopsy Of Days, which exhibited at Goethe Institut in Hanoi in 2013 and also at Hampshire College in the US in 2015.

The workshop will run for 10-12 weeks and will meet twice a week – Tuesday evening and Saturday afternoon for three hours each session. Workshop will be taught in English but students are encouraged to use Vietnamese in the class. Applicants should have basic knowledge about photography.

Workshop will start around mid of October 2016, exact date to be announced.
Location: Hanoi Doclab, Goethe Institute, 56-58 Nguyen Thai Hoc, Ba Dinh, Hanoi.
