HCMC – A Night of Mozart and Tchaikovsky

This special concert night taking place at HCMC Opera House on 19/04/2018 is expected to bring about a world class performance with the participation of guest artists coming from South Korea – talented conductor Kim Joon Cha, excellent pianist Cho Eun Young and HCMC Ballet Symphony Orchestra (HBSO) – led by the concertmaster Tran Huu Quoc, an amazing Vietnamese-born violinist living in South Korea.

Piano Concerto no. 21/strong> and the Overture of Mozart’s famous “Marriage of Figaro” will open the concert night.

The second part of the concert features one of the most famous symphonies by Tchaikovsky – the great Russian composer, one of the most prominent musicians of European music romanticism of the 19th century – Symphony no. 5

About the artists:

Conductor Kim Joon Cha is a prominent pianist who performed at the Carnegie Hall in New York, one of the concert halls with the highest performing standards in the world. He also performed as a conductor with KBS Symphony Orchestra, Ulsan Philharmonic Orchestra, Seoul Sinfonietta, the Russian National Orchestra, Volgograd Philharmonic Orchestra, Renaissance Orchestra, Oltenia Philharmonic Orchestra, Ureuk Symphony Orchestra. He received the Artist of the Year award by the Korean artists association in 2002. This is his first time performing with HBSO in HCMC.

Pianist Cho Eun Young started learning piano since she was 4 and performed in front of an audience for the first time at the age of 10, in a piano competition in which she won first prize. She studied Piano Performance at Gnessin State Musical College in Moscow, Russia, then went on to earn her Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctorate degree in Piano Performance in 2002. She performs with various orchestras in Russia and in South Korea on a regular basis. She is currently teaching at Myungji, Kukjae, Sehan and Baekseok Universities and she’s also the Director at E.C.M music academy in South Korea.
