“Nam cung Cheo” (rough translation: “Five tones of Cheo”) is a program built on a long-established foundation focusing on traditional Vietnamese chèo melodies… All are performed on the sounds of the two-string fiddle, the Chinese zither, the one-string zither, the wooden fish, the Vietnamese cylindrical drum, the Vietnamese hammered dulcimer, the xiao, the Vietnamese bass drum, the cymbals,… Gong and electric guitar are two of the contemporary instruments that will be brought in the performance. The fascinating combination of these sounds promises to bring a new experience to traditional music enthusiasts.
