From Quest Festival:

Quest is back in 2018 and we’re ready for our biggest edition yet.

Join us for a journey into freedom and creative expression with a smorgasbord of music, performance, workshops and random moments of magic and wonder.

Over the years, we’ve been described as one of the most scenic festivals on earth, rated one of the Top 300 festivals in the world by Everfest for both 2017 and 2018 and considered the most significant music, arts and culture festival in Vietnam.

We couldn’t be more excited to present our sixth year and are cooking up something special this time around, celebrating with 5,000 of our closest friends for three days of wonder. Discover yourself… join the Quest.

The site

Set against a backdrop of beautiful mountains and surrounded on all sides by a lake perfect for swimming, Son TInh camp is the ideal place to spend 3 days in another world. Son Tinh camp features showers, bathrooms and plenty of beautiful flat grassy space to set up your tent. Our range of camping packages make accommodation a breeze, with a tent and bedding packages set up for you in advance.

With six stages, Quest delivers a wealth of different aural delights, from techno and house through to funk, soul, metal and reggae, with the cream of talent that Vietnam has to offer as well as introducing world class international acts from South East Asia and beyond.

Aerialists, actors, fire spinners, stilt walkers, comedians, and other roving performers will add magic and energy to your experience. All of these will appear at random throughout the weekend, and when you least expect it.

Art work and installations

Each year Quest has elevated the guest experience and this year is no different. Expect to be amazed and delighted as we bring five complete stages to life, each designed and built using indigenous materials, upcycled and recycled materials as much as possible., The site will take on even more intricate beauty as we create visual delights through installations, live art and those little touches which let you know you are at Quest.

Festivals are about much more than just music, we believe in sharing ideas and skills. Indulge your yoga cravings, learn how to master the art of fire spinning, try your hand at improv comedy. Create your own feather earrings or design and construct your own crochet mandala. Whatever your interests or passions, Quest is sure to help you nurture them.

Food and drinks

What good would such a delicious selection of music, arts and performance be without an equally delicious selection of food? As always, we’ve paired up with a range of Hanoi’s finest culinary institutions to keep you fueled for a weekend’s adventures.

We keep our food and drink prices reasonable so you can keep your appetite at bay.

  1. The organisers of Quest 2018 aka Gerard Weller, Mark Harris (Gingerwork) et al, were sent a letter on September 19, from the Director of Hà Nội City’s Department of Culture and Sport Tô Văn Động ordering the compant to halt all preparation activities for this year’s festival. They carried on, business as usual, still accepting ticket sales. An appeal letter was finally sent by Gerard Weller’s Quest company dated November 18th, 4 weeks after they were officially told the festival could not go ahead. For Gerard Weller to then post on his Facebook page “After extensive discussion with the Ministry for Culture, Sports and Tourism, the police, the Hà Nội People’s Committee and other government agencies, we are deeply saddened to say we have exhausted all possibilities to run Quest Festival this weekend. As such, the event is officially cancelled.” A tad disengenuous? Will ticket buyers be refunded…..le us wait and see!
