From Goethe Institut:

Since their formation in 2012, the German band ISOLATION BERLIN accompanies an entire generation of young adults with unmistakable sound between pop, psychedelic, (post-) punk, new wave and chanson through their ups and downs of modern metropole life.

Their single “Annabelle” in 2015 marks the beginning of their success. The 2016 released debut album excited the music press. Today, ISOLATION BERLIN are a well-known and popular band from Germany’s capital. We are thrilled to welcome them from October 28 until November 25 to tour Vietnam, Malaysia and Philippines.

The concerts come along with interactive workshops and talks. Here, German learners from the PASCH partner schools, universities and Goethe-Institutes will get the chance to meet and communicate with the musicians. In Vietnam, ISOLATION BERLIN will play five concerts, one of them on November 3 at the German festival at the Hoan Kiem lake in Hanoi.

Tobias Bamborschke (singer, guitar), Max Bauer (guitar, keyboard), David Specht (bass) and Simeon Cöster (drums) are the favorites of the press and have a large fan base. Their latest album “Vergifte Dich” was released by the famous indie cult label Staatsakt and catapulted them straight to place 30 of German charts. This would be not much for a band that plays mainstream music. But for a band going so consequently their own way and making music beyond common templates of Indie-Rock, it is a cheer sensation. Though at the other hand not surprising at all, because the Berlin quartet makes “great, longing, sad and angry music that defies every trend” (Spiegel Online).
