From Goethe Institut:

“Blind Signal VTNM – GRMN” – an artist exchange project composed of performances, sound installations and live-acts where the audience takes part in a new audiovisual and sound journey. This project is evolutionary and open to the artistic diversity of the musicians involved in the creative process. Time, space, acoustics and geography are the key elements.

As part of the “Blind Signal VTNM – GRMN” program, the three participating international artist Antye Greie-Ripatti aka AGF aka Poemproducer, Gil Delindro & Julius Holtz will share their individual practices with a night of solo performances at the Goethe Institut of Hanoi.

Antye Greie-Ripatti aka AGF aka @Poemproducer’s music inhabits an augmented space where pounding experimental techno, spoken word, abstract video art, feminism and radical ecology create a self-sustaining environment.

Gil Delindro’s performances directly translate organic matter such as water, stones and several detritus in to sonic landscapes, by using a visceral approach that enhances the performative gestures of confrontation and intimacy.

Julius Holtz develops new fields of artistic experiments through recontextualization of various formats and media.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

“Blind Signal VTNM — GRMN” is an artist exchange project aiming to investigate the diversity and range of sonic perspectives possible when bringing six solo artists and musicians together to collaborate for seven days of creative residency proposing public workshops and live shows.

Antye Greie-Ripatti aka AGF aka Poemproducer, Huong DonNa, Gil Delindro, Julius Holtz, Luong Hue Trinh and Linh Hà will be challenged by a week’s collective work creating a common ground all while allowing the exploration of sonic art. Promoting a listening fully stimulate by noise, silence, frequency, transmission and the performativity of media objects, simultaneously remaining sensitive to the complexities and poetics of bodies and identities.
The main goal of this project is to offer a bridge linking Berlin-based and Vietnamese sound artists in order to create a mutually beneficial exchange for artist and audience. Offering the participant artists not only the possibility to perform in different contexts, but above all the possibility to collaborate with artists from different backgrounds. We understand that project location has an undeniable impact on creation and this residency will offer sound artists an atypical space where their artistic compositions can reach wider public and creative dimensions, This project aims to develop connections between Vietnam and Germany, hoping that interesting new collaborations might emerge and continue beyond this specific event by producing several live events where international German-based artists can collaborate with Vietnamese artists, giving all the opportunity to create rich new works.
