Vietnam National Opera & Ballet opens the first Choir class for anyone interested, from the age of 10 and above and speaks Vietnamese.
Choir is a type of musical ensemble consisting of many sections, helping you to recognize which voice you have in order to have the right song choice, better teamwork which could improve concentration and discipline.
The basic Choir class will help you avoid musical faults such as singing incorrect notes, intonation, singing at wrong tempo, dry throat, running out of breath; and help you increase your vocal range and your music sensibility;
Joining the course, you will learn how to handle songs with techniques of voice articulation, pitch, rhythm, and expressing emotions, as well as breathing techniques. You will also be practicing vocal techniques on different musical ranges. Determining each person’s voice range will help students choose songs that best fit their strengths and abilities.
In celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Vietnam National Opera & Ballet, the first 60 participants to register will receive a 60% discount thus need to pay only VND1,440,000.
Course information:
– 2 sessions/week: 7.30 pm – 8.30 pm on Thursdays and 10.30 am – 11.30 am on Sundays
– The course includes 24 sessions
– First session tentatively starts on 05 May 2019
– Fee: VND2,400,000/course
– The course is held at Vietnam National Opera & Ballet with professional classroom, accompanied by a piano player in each session and a guide on performance manner for the final review
About the course leader:
Lecturer – Choir singer Kieu Tham (b. 1979)
– 1999: Worked at Vietnam National Opera & Ballet
– 2008: Graduated from Vietnam National Academy of Music, majored in Voice
– 2016: Graduated from Vietnam National Academy of Music, majored in Choirmaster
– 2018: Studied Guitar at Vietnam National Academy of Music
– Played main roles in: Cosi fan tutte, Cô Sao, Symphony no. 9, Carmen, Chiếu dời đô, Kiều…
– Taught at National University of Art Education, Music Training Center – Vietnam National Academy of Music, and many other art centers.
