Every artist has gone through a development of different versions of themselves during the process of developing an artistic self.

The artworks they created during such process might have got old. But in terms of artistic concepts, is there a thing such as an “old concept”? And what role do those “old” works play in making the artists who they are today?

In the group exhibition “Individual” at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum on August 11-16, the six painters Dinh Tuan Hoang, Vu Tuan Dung, Vu Ngoc Lam, Nguyen Thanh, Pham Tuan Tu, Phan Tuan Ngoc will tell the stories about their own artistic development through the “old” works that have never gone public, facing the persons they once were in the paintings that were hidden – some almost thrown away.
