The French Institute of Vietnam, in collaboration with 11:11 d’Artistes, is pleased to present “A Dragon’s Home”, an exhibition by Sébastien Duranté, artist resident at Villa Saigon.
From the West to the Far East, through the cultures of the countries along the Silk Road, Sébastien Duranté explores the fantastic figure of the dragon in an installation created between Hanoi and Saigon.
Around a cabin made of bamboo, dragons – protectors of all animals – sit, chat and play. Their representations create a “dragon friendship”, welcoming other species, which, represented on furniture, screens and lamps, play with the codes in this imaginary house.
Influenced by the work of Đặng Quý Khoa and his residency in Saigon, Sébastien proposes to the public an engaged and surprising installation, which will plunge visitors into a colorful and festive universe, while making them aware of our relationship with the animal world.
