Hip-Hop Dance Festival and Competition “Hanoi – All in One”

In order to celebrate their fifth anniversary, the Hanoi b-boy crew S.I.N.E organizes a hip-hop dance festival. Under the title „Hanoi – All in One“, it will take place from November 13 to 15 at several venues in Hanoi. During these three days, hip-hoppers, b-boys and b-girls and all other dance lovers have the opportunity to participate in workshops, competitions and talks with well-known hip-hop artists both from the Vietnamese community as well as from all over the globe. And of course nobody should miss the spectacular performances of various crews and individual dancers which will perform freestyle, one-on-one and battles. Furthermore, there will be special competitions for several b-boy styles and elements such as popping, power moves or footwork.

Goethe-Institut is particularly pleased to be a partner of this unique event in the Vietnamese hip-hop scene. We have invited Storm Robitzky and Majid Kessab, two German b-boys and choreographers, in order to participate in the festival as members of the jury. Plus, each of them will conduct a workshop.

Niels “Storm” Robitzky (*1969) is an internationally renowned choreographer and b-boy. From 1991 on, his crew “Battle Squad” was one of the leading b-boy groups worldwide, one year later he became b-boy world champion. In 1996, he opened a dance academy in Berlin and was touring the whole world. Until today, he is working within the field of theater, performance and dance.

As a choreographer and dancer, Majid “Magilla” Kessab (*1993) particularly focuses on New Style. He has hosted a large number of international workshops, won numerous dancing awards and battles and worked as a member of jury committees. In 2014, he won the TV competition “Got to dance” and became hip-hop world champion (Juste Debout).
