About the artists: Huỳnh Công Nhớ is a dynamic young filmmaker from Đà Nẵng City, who matured through the programme Autumn Meeting. In 2022, he worked on the short films Bất Tử (Immortal, 15’) and Đôi Chim Hoàng Yến (15’), while also joining a group exhibition with the trio of paintings titled “Chó Ma” and screening his film “Mẹ Đất” (Mother of Earth) and “Cái Chân Gãy Của Bà Tôi” (Grandma’s Broken Leg) at the week-long art festival Nổ Cái Bùm 2022.
Remarkable activities/projects in 2020 – 2022: “Mẹ Đất” (15’) was shortlisted for the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen 2022 and screened at Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin 2022 (Glorious Body – Beaux-Arts de Paris). “Cái Chân Gãy Của Bà Tôi” (14’) also saw great success with the Jury Award at the SeaShorts Film Festival 2022; it was also screened at the International Festival of Ethnological Film 2022 in Serbia, and joined the ASEAN Short Film Competition – Bangkok ASEAN Film Festival (BAFF) 2022, the shorts programme of Electric Shadows Asian Film Festival. His works “Đi Lạc” (Go Astray), “Ánh”, “Mẹ Đất”, “Cái Chân Gãy Của Bà Tôi”) also participated in Festival Film 2022. His short film “Chó Ma” was selected for the Top 14 of Xinê House Grant 2022. “Lan, happy birthday” (13’) was screened at the Rolling Youth Film Festival 2022.
HANOI GRAPEVINE’s FINEST is an annual event that honors contemporary art projects in Vietnam. The event is organized and nominated by Hanoi Grapevine and the general audience.
The event aims to honor individuals, organizations, creative art projects & activities as well as artists who are 35 or younger who have made impacts on the community in order to encourage the development of local creative arts, to promote greater communication and to further spread the influence of art and culture in the community.
