To preserve and protect Vietnamese cultural monuments is vital to strengthening the nation’s identity, to building a rosy future based on the unity of past and present. Vietnamese-German cooperation also thereby plays a decisive role.

After their launch in Hanoi earlier this month, the two publications – audio-slideshow “Preserving Cultural Heritage in Vietnam – An Excursion to Three Beautiful Sites, Where Actions Speak Louder Than Words” and book “An Dinh – Hue’s Hidden Pearl” will officially be launched in Hue.

Another “Germany in Vietnam 2010” event. See our Feature Page for info on more events celebrating German Year on Vietnam.

Experience the audio-slideshow “Preserving Cultural Heritage in Vietnam – An Excursion to Three Beautiful Sites, Where Actions Speak Louder Than Words”, which informs you in Vietnamese, English or German of the cultural monuments at which our team from German Conservation Restoration & Education Projects (GCREP), has been active.

The book “An Dinh – Hue’s Hidden Pearl” deepens this knowledge. Drawing on atmospheric photographs complemented by historical and specialist commentaries, it reveals how the former splendour of this imperial palace’s magnificent interior decor can now shine again anew, thanks to several years’ expert conservation and restoration. The book is now online here.

Representatives of the Federal Republic of Germany in Hanoi, of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center, of the Province Thian Tien Hue and the GCREP team will be present at the launch, to explain the projects to you in more detail.

Further informations can be found at the projects’ official website.
