Hue – Preserving Tu Duc’s Tomb

Hue – Preserving Tu Duc’s Tomb

Tue 08 Jun, 3 pm
Tu Duc’s Tomb, Hue

The joint restoration, on the job training and certification scheme instigated by German restorers for Vietnamese trainees at the An Dinh Palace in Hué is now in its final phase at the tomb of the emperor Tu Duc on the former capital’s outskirts.

Tu Duc, the fourth emperor of the Nguyen dynasty, laid out his eternal resting place among rolling hills, pine forests, islands and lakes while he was still alive to enjoy it. The mausoleum grounds reflect the emperor’s romantic soul, attest to his sense of beauty and were inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1993.

Another “Germany in Vietnam 2010” event. See our Feature Page for info on more events celebrating German Year on Vietnam.

Thanks to the team’s meticulous implementation of a critical restoration concept, visitors can compare how things once were and what they have become. Please come to this exhibition to see how the project has gone so far.
