From the organizer:

Mick Moloney, one of Ireland’s most renowned traditional musicians and musicologists, will back to Vietnam for an evening of Irish music and song in HCMC.

Mick will be joined by fellow Irish musicians Michelle Mulcahy, Louise Mulcahy, Athena Tergis and Irish dancer Niall O’Leary. The concert will bring together the extraordinary talents of some of Ireland’s finest instrumentalists and one of the greatest dancers of our time.

The group will showcase not only the best of Irish song but also instrumental music featuring the uilleann pipes, harp, fiddle, guitar and octave mandolin, accompanied by the dazzling dancing of Niall O’Leary, the World Champion of Irish step dance. The ensemble plays a hugely varied repertoire ranging from traditional Irish tunes several hundred years old to beautiful music written by contemporary composers. Mick Moloney will perform songs in the Gaelic and English language and songs from the Irish American experience forged by hundreds of years of colonization and emigration. The group will also perform with the Vietnamese traditional artists from the Conservatory of Music in Ho Chi Minh City in a unique collaboration of Irish and Vietnamese musical styles.
