From Pots ‘n Pans:

Hanoi’s own Pots ‘n Pans, is excited to announce its first Anniversary on the Friday 29th March, 2013.

A multi-level restaurant & lounge bar experience in the heart of Hanoi that opened since March 2012 as an innovative partnership between KOTO (who works with street and disadvantaged youth), Small Giants (an Australian Impact Investment Group) and a dedicated group of KOTO alumni, Pots ‘n Pans has truly enjoyed creating wonderful dining moments for the last 12 months. It’s time to celebrate in style!

Pots ‘n Pans’ philosophy is a sustainable collaboration with community and environment.

A selected group of experienced and inspiring KOTO alumni share in the direct responsibility of the management and success of the venue. Motivated for trying new things and offering Hanoi a new style of restaurant experience, the team is led by KOTO’s first training course graduate and now 10 year veteran of the restaurant industry, Ms Thao Nguyen.

Thao is an example of the success story of KOTO graduates.

She used to earn a living by selling postcards around Hoan Kiem Lake before enrolling at KOTO. As one of the program’s most outstanding students, Thao was chosen to represent KOTO on a trip to Switzerland. After graduation, she was hired by the Sofitel Metropole in Hanoi then later returned to KOTO Hanoi where she works as restaurant manager. After studying at Box Hill (Australia) for 2 years, Thao came back to Vietnam and became the General Manager at Pots ‘n Pans until now.

Thao and the team tirelessly strive to have a positive impact on community and environment. As a social enterprise, thirty percent of Pots ‘n Pans profits are used to support the community through KOTO.
