This is an exhibition of 21 self-portraits of 21 women, painted by the women themselves. They were trafficked, beaten or raped in the past. Some of them are still grappling with trauma, some decided to go back to their violent husbands but has had more knowledge and skills to diminish the violence in their homes, and others are getting over the pain and looking forward to a better future. Sad eyes, broad smiles, or dark color blocks in the paintings, all contain somewhere feelings, confesses and personal stories of each individual.

Please join us to look at the paintings to sympathize with people in difficulties and share with them the sadness they have been through in the past. Apart from the paintings, you will also learn more about human trafficking, domestic violence, sexual abuse and their influence on Vietnamese women, as well as learn about Hagar’s work in supporting women and children in Vietnam.

Coming to the exhibition, you can deliver messages of love and compassion through many ways: write a note, draw or paint, or simply post on social media. You can also purchase your favorite painting to support women and children.
