Guitar Concert “Đam mê & Chông gai” tells the story of the pioneers in their field of art. They are the daring young men who live with passion and pursue the difference, the ones who bring into Vietnam new movements of art. Even though being pioneers means surviving obstacles… and sometimes even loneliness.

Audiences will be listening to the sharing from their heart to better understand their arduous journey to build a new art movement and enjoying their talents to further admire their patience and tireless efforts to assert themselves and inspire others.

Who are they? They are guitarists Tung AG, Nguyen Danh Tu… which present the latest line of guitar in Vietnam – percussive fingerstyle… and two special guests: beatboxer Minh Kien and popper Star Tf (Vu Tung Phuong).

* Percussive Fingerstyle Guitar is a line of Fingerstyle guitar incorporating sharp attacks on the strings, as well as hitting the strings and guitar top with the hand for percussive effect. Although being quite popular in the world, it was only introduced into Vietnam some years back. When playing, guitarist use their fingers to play the main melody, at the same time using percussive techniques on different parts of the guitar for percussive effect, giving listeners the feeling like they are enjoying the performance from a band rather than a solo guitar.

Guitarist Tung AG and other members of Vietnam Fingerstyle Guitar Organization (VNFS)
Tung AG (Do Duong Tung) came up with percussive fingerstyle guitar while being a student of environment studies. Because this guitar line has not been taught in Vietnam, he had to teach himself by using rewinding foreign guitar clips on the Internet. It took him 7 months to play the very first work Sunflower the right way.
