You are cordially invited to the talk show “Madame Đạm Phương: The Problem of Vietnamese Women” with the following guest speakers:

– Đoàn Ánh Dương, researcher, Vietnam Institute Of Literature
– Nguyễn Khoa Điềm, poet

Đạm Phương is recognized as one of the first Vietnamese feminists of the 20th century, a pioneer who used her writings to awaken in Vietnamese women a sense of dignity and responsibility. She was the founding president of the Professional Education Association for Women (Nữ công học hội) in Hue City.

The discussion will focus on her book “The Problem of Vietnamese Women”, which is a collection of articles in which she expressed her views on women and how to help Vietnamese women raise awareness and adjust their behaviors in the time when Vietnam was heavily influenced by foreign factors.
