With the participation of
– Nguyễn Quang Thiều, author
– Di Li, author
Gastronomic literature is an interesting topic that has attracted readers through decades both in the country and around the world. Yet there are not many authors who write about this genre. The discussion will review the essays on gastronomy, those of Thạch Lam, Vũ Bằng and Bằng Sơn, and focus on the inheritance and new creative features in the works of contemporary authors Nguyễn Quang Thiều and Di Li.
The gastronomic essay of Nguyễn Quang Thiều focus on vivid memories of Chùa village’s dishes as a representative of the northern countryside’s culture.
Di Li’s two humorous works include 106 gastronomic stories in the country and around the world, resembling a diverse picture of the lands and the cultures of the peoples.
