What a terrible end to one of the nicest night time places to get inebriated and check out some great music/art. To be replaced by a Karaoke bar….eek

Oh thank God it’s closing. Because one thing there is too much of in Hanoi is civilized establishments where interesting people can meet and talk intelligently in a congenial atmosphere.

And there DEFINITELY are not enough places in Hanoi where people who shouldn’t even sing in the privacy of their own bathrooms can gather in small rooms with microphones and amplifiers.

Will they still do the poetry readings in three languages thingie?

What a shame!!! There are already tons of karaoke places!!! But there is only one Tadioto!!! Can anything be done to stop this trend!
Seeing beautiful cultural places disappear to leave place to uglyness makes me very sad.

It’s a sad new to all who love Tadioto, really!

Thank you for the kind words. we’ve been lucky to have so many join us for the past years. You all made Tadioto what it’s been, and we can’t thank you enough.
In a few days, we at Tadioto hope to announce our new space and re-launch.
Fingers crossed, head held high, inspired by people power in North Africa and the Middle East.

I was always drawn to Tadioto. It was my internal organs that cringed, that gave the unconscious signal that I shouldn’t go, or later, that I should leave. And now upon the closing announcement, like some goddamn Stockholm syndrome, several internal organs have shut down completely in sympathy. I am bleeding now.

It attracted good proactive sap-suckers in droves. Its webs of attraction kept them entrapped within its alcoholic folds. And a sluggish hairy mother spider smoothed all those foreheads, kept all those drinks over half-full, buffed egos like military boots. With words, booze and massage, those hairy legs manipulated. No doubt that spider will move on, blown from his perch by the inhuman Hanoian real-estate market. He shall find somewhere to land, blood to suck, energy to coerce.

I shall hunt that spider. I drink the same venom. Floss my teeth on the same viscous strands. I know Tadioto will rise again – like small pox – like Ebola – forcing human bodily fluids out of distressed victims. When it happens, no matter where or when, I shall be there. To absorb the flow, the verbiage, the insidious threat. For like the voyage into the Heart of Darkness, I am one with that I seek to destroy…

They call me Ishmael… Tadioto is my whale.

I am so sad, because I was hoping to make another visit this summer! OK, keep us posted on your next venture. Love and kisses from Taipei, my dear friend.
