International Poetry Event

Poetry is adored by all Vietnamese and is a popular form of Vietnamese literature. For the last 7 years, the Vietnamese Writers Association has been organising the Annual Poetry Day of Vietnam at the Temple of Literature. The event is attended by thousands of young and old Vietnamese. This year, the 8th Poetry Day of Vietnam will be even more special and will include a series of events, one of which is the International Poetry Event.

International poets are invited to take part in the poetry readings and performances held at the event. The topic should focus on poetry you have written about Hanoi, or about Vietnam. The event is organised in a relaxed and fun way for everyone to enjoy. The program includes reading of Vietnamese, English, Russian, Polish, Chinese, German, Korean, Rumanian etc. poetries and their translations in Vietnamese.

If you would like to take part, please email your poem(s), preferably with Vietnamese translation if you already have it, to: [email protected]

Deadlines for poetry reading/performance registration: as soon as possble, but not later than Sat 20 Feb.

A meeting with readers/performers will be held before the event, with the attendance of Poet Huu Thinh, President of Vietnamese Writers’ Association. Details will be announced later.
