You are invited to the launch of the Vietnamese version of the book “Éloge de la Faiblesse” (In Praise of Weakness) by Alexandre Jollien with the participation of:
– Representative of the French Embassy
– Representative of The Gioi Publishers
“Éloge de la faiblesse” (In Praise of Weakness) retraces an inner journey to shift one’s focus to philosophy. The author, Alexandre Jollien, handicapped since birth, imagines being visited by Socrates. There follows by an exchange where tools are introduced in order to learn, to progress in joy, to stay on course in the midst of pain and to not let oneself be determined by another’s gaze. Philosophy is here an art of living, a way to abandon prejudices in order to discover oneself and build one’s uniqueness. Little by little, a transformation takes place, the weak, the vulnerable, the ordeal can become a fertile land for freedom and joy.
