After many years living in Hanoi, Brian Ring is finally moving away.
But before he leaves there are 2 great chances to say goodbye, and at the same time to visit 2 of the coolest venues in Hanoi.
Tue 04 June, from about 8 pm – Tadioto
Expect Tadioto-in-progress, along with visual art, music, poetry.
Wed 05 June, from about 6.30 pm – Manzi
Brian will be spending the evening just hanging out at Manzi. Please join him for a quiet last drink.
If you have been to Manzi already, you know it is worth a visit. If you haven’t, take this opportunity to check it out.

Wishing you, Brian, happy days ahead. Your contribution to the Hanoi cultural scene is unique, as is Grapevine.
Looking forward to meeting up wherever…

Thank you Raquelle. I bet we meet again in Hanoi! :)
Thank you for what you have done in Hanoi, Brian! Hanoi Grapevine has been my good friend since I was a student. Wish you all the best!
Thank you Van Nguyen. I am happy to hear that Grapevine has been useful for you!
thanks for the good wishes.
Your contribution has been great, as has your enthusiasm for your work and for your adopted city. We thank you, and we will miss you.
Thanks Mark – i appreciate your kind words.
I have just known the website but I think it’s very interesting and well-arranged. Wish you all the best Mr Brian!
And the events will be organized on Tue 04th Jun+Wed 05th Jun or Wed 05th Jun+Thu 06th Jun? Please, correct the post.
thanks Henry!
it is corrected now:
Tues 04 June at Tadioto
Wed 05 June at Manzi
Man, that last year must have gone quick. Did for me down south anyhow.
Hope to see you in Hanoi down the track and the very best of luck readjusting to German efficiency, traffic laws, etc, etc.
Your work here is worthy of a long and lively celebration so don’t make that last drink “too quiet”. Don’t think you can be thanked enough for what you achieved in Hanoi — not to mention sacrificing so much of your own time for the benefit of so many others.
A tip of the Comical Hat to you good sir.
Till the next time, Auf Wiedersehen!
Connla oi, thanks for the kind words – if a hat is going to be tipped, then i am delighted that it is the Comical Hat! – and thanks also for your support and contributions to Grapevine.
Look forward to our paths crossing again.
Till then.
Brian, it was great to have been close to you since the inception of Hanoi Grapevine. I hope that this great website will keep alive and well without your physical presence whilst you go and pursue other adventures.
Hope to see you again in Hanoi or in Europe so please keep in touch.
All the best
Hi Kristine, hi Geoff,
nice to hear from you. Grapevine is in good hands and i think it has a great future. :)
Yes. look forward to seeing you both again, wherever our travels take us.
Great to have a chance to work with you. Don’t know if you remember the show we did together years ago, but I still remember about you, one of the guys who made great contribution to the art scene and T.V production in Vietnam. Without the info you provided through Hanoi Grapevine, our TV works would be much more difficult. Wish you all the best, Brian
hi Quang Anh, nice to hear from you. Yes i remember sitting under the trees near the old roller-skating rink and having a nice chat. :)
Happy to hear that Grapevine is contributing to your work too!
Thanks for the good wishes!
Won’t be the same without you Brian! Massive work you’ve done, huge support you’ve shown to the arts over the years and always a true pleasure to catch up with you. See you in the week for one last glass of red :)
Thank you for all what you’ve done for us
God bless you in your journey ahead!
Brian, Sorry to read that you are leaving Hanoi. Even more sorry that our paths have not crossed for several years. Through Grapevine and other pieces you are leaving in Hanoi, we will always feel your love and presence. Safe journeys my friend and hoping that our paths will cross in the future. Let us know if you ever find yourself on the way to Boston. David
So Brian,

Brian, so may thanks for brining out the richness that Hanoi has to offer. Your warm and friendly self is to be missed. Like every good Hanoian you shall return and I look forward to bumping into you. All ze best in Germany!!
Dear Brian,
I will be with you at TADIOTO, with all my thoughts. You have such of a Hanoian, I am sure you’ll bring your passion, humor and smile to some other people somewhere else with the same conviction.
All the best to you !
Cheers
All the best Brian. Sure we’ll catch up with you again one day.
Brian,
Your support and encouragement as we set-up PechaKucha in Hanoi helped to make it possible. Just another of the ways that you have helped to support creativity and community in Ha Noi over many years. Take care and see you back here soon. Best, Colin
Thank Brian so much for your great Hanoigrapevine creation!
Suddenly I have been recalled by our first encounter when we had a interview at Puku (Thanks to Ms Hue). I don’t know whether you remember or not.. But you surprised me as you still saved time for a stranger while you was always busy up to ear. Although our meet up didn’t really work out:D, u left a lasting impression on your calm appearance & your good sense of humor. wish you have another safe & sound journey :)
