“First Time Filmmakers with Discovery Channel”
documentary script-writing competition

A documentary competition for Vietnamese nationals from Uproar Asia in co-operation with The Discovery Channel and the Vietnam Cinema Department, made possible through a grant from The Ford Foundation.
This is the first time Vietnamese filmmakers have chance to make documentary films under international, or here is Discovery Channel, standards. This project is a part of a program which has been successfully operated in countries like China and Malaysia. The films of filmmakers from these countries have been shown on Discovery Channel.
This contest is open to all Vietnamese Nationals who have experience in factual documentary production.
Applicants should submit a story outline or treatment in English for a half hour documentary programme that explores issues or events relating to the series theme ‘Urban Transition in Vietnam’. The treatment/outline should be maximum three A4 pages.
