Goethe Institut Hanoi
Jakarta, Manila, Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Hanoi. The German photographer Peter Bialobrzeski combined his personal photographic journey of discovery through the major south-east Asian megalopolises with workshops for young talents at each stop.
In over 90 images a total of 26 photographers examined their home cities with a variety of approaches and positions. The result is a diversified kaleidoscope, a virtual city map, which makes visible those unique elements of the daily life of each city wich are often overlooked. Moving beyond cliches, the map-like fragments bring together the familiar and the unseen.
Curarted by Alex Supartono, the exhibition Mapping Invisible Cities returns to the locations of its creation as a joint image of all the participating cities.
