From TPD:

Plato and a platypus walk into a cinema.

In this cinema afternoon tea, we will cross the borders of the screen to discuss filmmakers’ ideologies and philosophies.

This is now the 21st century, how are we still haunted by the philosophical thoughts of a man lived 2000 years ago? Or should the question be, how is it possible that 2000 years ago, he already saw the questions of humankind?

This man, Plato (427-347 BC), is known as one of the greatest philosophers ever lived, who laid the foundation for the most boring subject of our university life. Yet he had the influence not only on philosophy, but also on many contemporary works of art. Cinema is no exception.

We invite you to the third Cinematic Discussion to talk about Plato and his ideologies of the 7th art, or at the very least, have a more sympathetic view on fundamental philosophy.

Host: Director Tran Thanh
