Exhibition: 4 Apr – 4 May
Bookworm
A solo exhibition of new work by Nguyen Tran Cuong at the Bookworm from Easter Sunday.
New Clothes is Nguyen Tran Cuong’s latest exhibition and he’s based it on Hans Christian Andersen’s well loved tale, ‘The Emperor’s New Clothes’. Cuong says that all of Andersen’s stories have one level of meaning for children and another for adults. He has illustrated the story and added images that relate to the way in which modern society is developing.
Much of Cuong’s artistic work is inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s tales and this exhibition is Cuong’s homage to him.
This is Cuong’s first solo exhibition at the Bookworm. In a group exhibition in 2009 his drawings were extremely popular and sold well. His new works are priced at $50 unframed and $60 framed.
The public is invited to share a glass of wine with the artist on Tuesday, April the 6th, from 6pm.
The Bookworm is a non profit art space and rent and commissions are not charged.
