TRANSLATION IN VIETNAMESE OF ITALIAN BESTSELLER

“The Solitude of Prime Numbers”

The Embassy of Italy, in cooperation with of the publishing house Nha Nam, is pleased to present the Vietnamese translation of “The Solitude of Prime Numbers”, the first novel of Italian writer Paolo Giordano winner of the most prestigious Italian literary award 2008 (Premio Strega) and which has sold more than 1,000,000 copies in Italy and has already been translated in many languages.

The author, PhD student in physics at the University of Turin, is the youngest winner in the long history of Italian literary award, whose first edition was held in 1947.

In Hanoi Paolo Giordano will present his book to his Vietnamese readers on the following dates:

• August 26th , from 5:30 to 7:00 pm, at Phuong Dong University (201 Trung Kinh)

• August 27th , from 9:30 to 11:00 am, at Hanoi University (km 9, Nguyen Trai)

• August 27th, from 2.30 to 4.00 pm, at Faculty of Creative Writing of University of Culture (418 De La Thanh)

• August 28th, from  5:00 to 7:00 pm, at Thang Long University (133 Khuong Trung)

With the translation of “The Solitude of Prime Numbers” the Embassy of Italy promotes the translation in Vietnamese of Italian bestsellers in cooperation with the publishing house Nha Nam including, in 2009, “Silk” and “Ocean Sea” by Alessandro Baricco, “The Baron in the Trees” by Italo Calvino and “The long life of Marianna Ucria” by most acclaimed Italian female writer Dacia Maraini who will participate at Week of the Italian Language in Hanoi (26-29 October 2009).
