From Goethe Institut:
When science fiction becomes science…
The eleventh edition of the Science Film Festival is once again an opportunity for children and adolescents to experience science at first hand. This year, it’s all about the topic of light: What exactly are laser beams and how can they be used? Why do rainbows happen? And how can fireflies glow in the dark? The Festival is participating in the “International Year of Light 2015”, which was launched by the UN to explore the importance of light and light-based technologies on humanity and planet Earth.
A selection of 13 films from 5 countries was made to encourage scientific awareness in young people in both urban and rural areas. In the past years, numerous children and adolescents in Vietnam have already been able to participate in this popular programme throughout 13 cities and provinces.

Join in and discover…
In Vietnam, the Science Film Festival will take place between 11.10. and 06.12.2015 for the fifth time already. On Sunday, 11.10.2015, there will be film screenings and many activities to discover for children and parents at the Kim Dong Cinema. Four short films will offer insights into laws of nature, environmental protection and light technologies: “How Does A Rainbow Happen”, “House of Little Scientists: Bubbles”, “Bright Night – How light pollutes the environment”, and “The Light Elephant”.
The next day, on 12.10.2015, will be the opening of the school activities at the Le Quy Don school in Hanoi. On both days, visitors can experience the topic of light by short films, hands-on experiments and games.
For the Activity Days on the 18.10 and 15.11.2015, all children, adolescents and adults are invited to the Goethe-Institut to join in and discover science and technology with their own hands.
Until the 6.12.2015, the programs will be screened at schools in eight different places (Hà Nội, Vĩnh Phúc, Thái Nguyên, Thái Bình, Đà Nẵng, Quảng Nam-Hội An, Đak Lak, Hồ Chí Minh City).
