Book Release and Mini Exhibit Launch for “The Soul of Vietnam”

Art Vietnam Gallery and the The Gioi Publishing House are pleased to announce the book launch of “The Soul of Vietnam”, a beautiful, poignant, humorous and delightful capture of the life of the Vietnamese. Photographer Larry D’Attilio, a fellow American, came to Vietnam 10 years ago and fell in love with the country. Weaving seamlessly through the culture from North to South, the photographer captures the magnificent to the mundane, all with the eye of respect for the natural beauty of the country and joy and creativity of the lives.
The foreword by Joseph l. Galloway, the renowned American war correspondent, emphasizes the artist’s desire to depict and honor the lives of all Vietnamese in order to encourage them to believe in their extraordinary potential to become a future world leader. The book is written in English and Vietnamese and portrays 150 images arranged thematically into chapters including landscapes, contemporary life, humor, tradition, and a myriad of moments that express Mr. D’Attilio’s feelings and viewpoints on a changing country of boundless energy.
The book is also available in the U.S.A. where the artist wishes to influence American thinking to recognize Vietnam’s importance to the U.S.A. as well.

– Mini Exhibit of Fine Art Photographs from images in the book
– A short talk by D’Attilio on Vietnam’s strengths that are building its successes
– Q&A on the photos and writing in the book
– Music for unaccompanied violin provided by D’Attilio’s wife, Pamela Foard
Books are available for purchase for 700,000VND and D’Attilio will sign any book that is sold and give a A4 size fine art photograph print to accompany the book.
