Animation Station at DOCLAB

This week VIDEO ART VIDEO at DOCLAB would like to present our third series of screenings: ‘Animation Station’. In this series we will show animated films made with techniques as old as hand drawing on paper or transparent cels and stop-motion, to modern techniques such as 3D graphics and computer animation. Once in awhile other series such as ‘The Avant Garde’ (pioneering films that redefined art and cinema) or ‘Cities’ Symphonies’ (films depicting and exploring urban life) will return to spice things up, so keep checking back!

In the first installment of ‘Animation Station’ we would like to present 7 short animations:

• ‘Inspiration’ (1948) by Karel Zeman.
• ‘Film No. 3: Interwoven’ (1947-49) by Harry Smith.
• ‘Eyewash’ (1959) by Robert Breer
• ‘Peyote Queen’ (1965) by Storm De Hirsch.
• ‘Hamfat Asar’ (1965) by Lawrence Jordan.
• ‘Punch and Judy’ (1966) by Jan Svankmajer.
• ‘7362’ (1967) by Pat O’Neill.

The screening is non-profit and aims for studies and research only.

Following the screening is Q&A session.
