What is dance? That was the first question we sat with during CINEMOVEMENT – a residency program that brought filmmakers and dancers into the same space, inviting them to learn each other’s languages. We discovered that breathing is dance. The subtle rise of an eyebrow is dance. Any movement of the body can be dance, so long as it carries intention. Dance isn’t just about performance or entertainment; it’s about the conscious use of the body as a medium for expression and communication, about bringing awareness to our physical presence.
With that in mind, I hope this screening offers a fresh exploration of “dance”. Let’s release the expectation of conventional narrative and immerse ourselves in a pure celebration of movements.
