Christian Delporte- mass media analysist, Professor from Versailles Saint – Quentin University and Director of Contemporary Culture Center will discuss the controversial topic on whether globalization of information and cultural assimilation do really exist.
Over the last 20 years, international channels such as CNN, Al Jazeer, BBC World News or France 24 help spread information. This is also attributed to the use of satellites. Are we threatened by the influence of only one cultural model? Will developing countries accept cultural assimilation while their television channels cut down on traditional shows? It is not always the case because traditional values have undeniable strength and adaptation capability.
