Opening: Fri 06 Sep 2013
Exhibition: 12 – 17 Sep 2013
New Space Arts Foundation, Hue
From the organizer:
Perspective is a continuous project following the projects about New media that NSAF have conducted in the last couple of years. Within this project (Perspective) we will organize conferences, workshops, and display and exhibit the best video artworks by Vietnamese artists.
Perspective project is the place where artists, especially those from Ha Noi, Hue and Ho Chi Minh city come into contact. This is an opportunity for young artists to work together and directly discuss with curators. Since 2000, Hue has been one of the cities that are home to young artists who seek for creativeness in contemporary art. Thanks to that, audience and students in Hue have the opportunity to get to know about contemporary art. Also since 2000, Hue has been holding Festivals once every two years that showcase various unique art forms, including contemporary art. It’s a new wind for artists and audience.
NSAF and Hue university of Fine Arts have joint hands to organize conferences, workshops, and exhibitions about video art on a regular basis. Through these activities, a group of independent artists who work in this art field has formed. Based on the concept of Perspective, NSAF curate and organize this exhibition project: Perspective to introduce video artworks by artists from Ha Noi – HCM, and artists from central Viet Nam who live in Hue. These artists are selected from many of those who are working independently and openly… with various visual art forms, especially video arts… They integrate into contemporary art tendencies by exploring new materials, ideas, ways of presenting… Each artist is a strong personality, with a unique style proven by time… in the course of their lives and creativity.
Perspective aims to bring artists who are working independently and silently to the audience. Besides, the exhibition will not only introduce new artworks but also create interactions between artworks in the same space; and between artists to create a new source of energy for creativity.
Stages of the project Perspective has two stages in a period of 5 months.
