Presentation of Italian Comic Writer

In the framework of the Y-VIET 2012 Program, the Embassy of Italy in Hanoi is very pleased to present to the press and Vietnamese public the Italian comic writer Daniel Bonomo, a.k.a. Gud.

The very well known artist and author will be in Hanoi from May, 21^st to 25^th, to present his works to the public and share his experiences with local professional artists and fans. In particular, GUD will introduce to the Vietnamese public his last work: “Gaia Blues”, a book that unfolds into a 16:9 sequence, like a movie-story. Images from the saturated colors and soft lines, which make the book an universal and global work.

A book that strikes at the heart because it speaks to us, for our present and future of our men-to-be in relationship with Nature and Earth: Gaia, damaged by our actions. It ‘a wordless Blues, a lament about the adventures of a family of polar bears, addressing an audience of all ages and no boundaries.

The presence of Daniel Bonomo in Hanoi will have four stages:

• Meeting with the students of the Department of the Italian Language at the Hanoi University, at 09,30am, on Monday, 21^st May (for studens only);

• Meeting with artists and fans at the “Trung Nguyen Creation Rendezvous” (36, Dien Bien Phu – Hanoi) at 5pm on Monday, 21st May (free entrance);

• Seminar “Comics & Marketing: how to promote your brand” (upon invitation only). The meeting, dedicated to companies and communication agencies, will address the following issues: Comics and Animation as a means of communication; Using Comics to attitudinal and instructional manuals (Training); Comics as a business communication; Comics marketing and advertising campaigns; Case studies: Google, Ikea, Geox; Training services – Comicsprovider.

The event will take place at 9,30am on Tuesday, 22^nd May, at the Residence of the Ambassador of Italy in Vietnam (Villa 23-10, Dang Thai Mai, Tay Ho, Hanoi)

• Exhibition of “Gaia Blues” boards for UNIS Students Community (United Nations International School) in Hanoi, May, 23^rd to 25^th at the School Library (for UNIS Community only).
